What actually happened at the table, in plain language.
I write up what happened at council and at the Regional District in plain language, because the official minutes are not built for people with jobs. That means City of Nelson council, the RDCK board, and the recreation and parks commissions I chair, which between them cover most of what gets decided around here.

How these reports get written
Every one of these starts with a conversation, where I get asked about a meeting: what was debated, what mattered, how I voted and why. Most of that happens out loud rather than at a desk, since my days start early and run late and are mostly spent with people who need something fixed, so I’ll talk a meeting through between customers or out on the highway between commissions.
The material gets sorted first into what’s open and what’s closed, and only the open part goes any further, along with my notes, into a workflow I’ve built with Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic. What comes back is a draft, and then I read it and edit it, and nothing posts until I’m satisfied it’s right. The honest reason for building it is that there’s more asked of a day than fits in one.
Closed meetings stay closed. Numbers come off the page and not out of my memory. And these are my accounts rather than the official record, so where mine and the City’s or the RDCK’s differ, theirs is official.
