I’m running for Nelson City Council, and Nelson decides on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The work ahead is unglamorous and it matters: housing people can actually afford, recreation and infrastructure that lasts, childcare for working families, and a local economy that keeps money in the Kootenays.

What I’m focused on
Housing people who live here can afford
Housing has been the through-line of my work on council and at the Regional District. Getting it right means treating housing, addictions and community safety as one connected problem rather than three separate ones.
Childcare and the families who need it
We have been building a comprehensive childcare picture for the Regional District, with a focus on supporting families and the early educators the whole sector depends on. Nelson cannot attract working-age people to a town where there is nowhere to put their kids.
Recreation and infrastructure that lasts
The ice plant renewal at the NDCC is the kind of decision that defines a term. Recreation funding has been restored toward where it was a decade ago, and the job now is renewing what we have without handing residents a bill they cannot absorb.
An economy that keeps money in the Kootenays
Through Greater Nelson Economic Development, and as someone who has run a small business here, my bias is toward the co-operative models that keep ownership local: community investment, housing and worker co-ops that reduce our dependence on outside systems.

- Saturday, October 17, 2026 — general voting day, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Nelson may add further advance voting opportunities. I’ll email the confirmed list to everyone on the update list once the city publishes it.
